Resolving Speed Limiter Issues on EU E-Bike VersionsUpdated a month ago

If your EU-spec e-bike is stuck at 25 km/h, it may be due to the onboard speed limiter. Here’s how to address this issue safely:

Step 1: Identify the Limiter Wire

  • The speed limiter is often controlled via a specific wire in the controller or wiring harness.

  • Cutting or disconnecting the correct wire can remove the limit, but the location may vary depending on the production batch.

Step 2: Firmware-Locked Models

  • Some EU e-bikes, such as Bosch-equipped eKFV models, have a firmware-enforced speed limit.

  • For these models, do not attempt hardware modifications.

  • Contact the dealer or manufacturer for an official unlock code or firmware update.

Important Safety Note

  • Removing a speed limiter may violate local regulations and could affect warranty coverage.

  • Always ensure that any modifications comply with local laws and safety standards.
