We have increased this thickness so that there would be extra threading available to screw on securely.

We have added thread lock when installing this screw, and the nut is to securely tighten the height of the screw. We did not use a bigger screw because of the opening on the latch and catch. Also the 4 screw on this latch is to use threadlock on it's screw. This has been tested 1000 times of locking and unlocking by the folding mechanism supplier to ensure the screw that catches the latch do not jam up or loosen.
