EMOVE Touring Motor – Quick GuideUpdated a month ago
The motor on your EMOVE Touring is the rear wheel assembly that powers the scooter. It’s a 500W Brushless DC Motor, designed for reliability and high efficiency. Keep in mind that the motor and tire are typically inseparable due to the solid rear tire.
⚙️ Replacing the Motor
Steps:
Disconnect the Black and Red wires from the controller to the battery.
Disconnect the Blue, Yellow, and Green motor wires.
Cut the old motor wires at the chassis.
Prepare the new motor wires and twist color to color (Blue->Blue, Green->Green, Yellow->Yellow). Solder connections.
Secure with electrical tape or shrink wrap.
Test the motor by engaging the throttle.
Reconnect all wires, manage cables, and seal the scooter.
🛠 Troubleshooting
Bent/Dented/Cracked Motor Rim:
Check for leaks with soapy water. If air is escaping from the rim, the motor must be replaced.
Soapy Water Leak Test
Motor Lock-Up / Hand Roll Test:
Roll the rear wheel by hand.
No resistance: Likely a controller issue.
Strong resistance / locked: Likely motor issue; may need replacement.
Inspect wires for damage during testing.
Motor Spins in Reverse:
Usually caused by incorrect motor wire connections. Check wires match Green->Green, Blue->Blue, Yellow->Yellow.
⚠️ Important Notes
Motor bearings cannot be replaced separately. If worn, the motor must be replaced.
Always check that the motor nut and motor hook spacer are installed when replacing the motor.
If error codes appear on the LCD, double-check connections before considering replacement.
